Year-Round Camp Options

  • Work in a small class cohort under the guidance of an experienced research mentor.
  • Class sizes are typically 2–10 students, ensuring individualized attention and personalized feedback for each student.
  • Each live session is 75-90 minutes, held virtually via Zoom.
  • Camp is open to rising 9th through high school. No prior experience is required, just a willingness to learn and commit the time necessary.
  • All camp options have clear deliverables: research publication, poster presentation, and certificate of completion.
  • Research publication – Each student will receive a unique URL for their indexed research report. This ensures easy access, enhances visibility, and allows their work to be shared and cited within the academic community.

  • Research Topic: Exploring Topics in Neuroscience + Research Methodologies
  • 10 sessions + a poster presentation – meeting 1x a week, approx. 75-90 mins each

In this camp, students learn the basics of the nervous system and brain function. Students will discover how the brain and nervous system work together to control everything you do.

You’ll explore brain anatomy, learn how brain cells communicate through neurotransmitters, and uncover how the nervous system controls movement, sensation, learning, memory, emotions, and behavior. The course introduces neuropharmacology and neurological diseases, helping you understand how the brain functions when it’s healthy and what happens when things go wrong.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a strong foundation in neuroscience and a better understanding of how the brain shapes our everyday lives.
Throughout the camp, students will build valuable research skills by learning how to read scientific articles with guidance from their mentor, designing their own research study, and presenting their ideas to their peers through a research poster presentation.

  • Research Topic: Neural Plasticity – How the Brain Learns, Changes, and Adapts
  • 10 sessions + a poster presentation – meeting 2x a week, approx. 75-90 mins each
  • Dates: Every Tuesday and Friday (11/17/26 – 12/18/26)
  • Times: 7:00p – 8:30p ET/ 4:00p – 5:30p PT
  • Poster Presentation: Sunday, December 20th

Students will explore the following topics:

  • How plasticity underlies learning, memory, and skill acquisition
  • The role of plasticity in recovery and lifelong learning
  • Developmental plasticity (how early experiences shape the brain, e.g., vision and the amblyopia model)
  • Dependent plasticity (how practice, repetition, and enriched environments reshape neural circuits)
  • Hebbian plasticity (“cells that fire together, wire together”)
  • Apply plasticity concepts to real-world case scenarios (e.g., phantom limb, recovery after brain injury, vision restoration).
