Yes, Rising Researchers is open to international students. All of the sessions will be conducted in English. 

Students can join the program from anywhere in the world. The only requirement is that they are able to attend the live virtual class sessions.

The homework assignments are completed independently outside of class, allowing students to work on their own schedule and in their own time zone.

No prior research experience is required. We welcome motivated students who are eager to learn and willing to put in the necessary effort. Students are expected to attend the majority of the live virtual classes and complete homework assignments on time.

While other research programs are focused on fostering laboratory skills, Rising Researchers aims to develop scientific thinking, data analysis, publication writing, and presentation skills. These qualities are highly sought after at research institutions and medical schools. 

Furthermore, the Rising Researchers curriculum was created by our research mentors, who are not only experienced in research but also BS/MD and medical school admissions. We aim to help students gain a different perspective on research seldom available elsewhere. We also strive to provide an experience to help them stand out in the BS/MD and medical school admissions process.  

Classes are held live and virtually in an interactive, engaging format that often includes breakout rooms where students collaborate in small groups and receive more individualized attention.

Throughout the course, research mentors provide personalized guidance through detailed feedback on assignments, weekly office hours, and ongoing support to answer questions and help students succeed.

Our goal is to ensure every student receives the mentorship and resources needed to get the most out of the program.

Top universities, direct medical programs, and medical schools recruit and select students who challenge themselves and actively engage in their passions. Participation in Rising Researchers can help demonstrate your academic rigor with deliverables such as a publication of your research work and a poster presentation. 

No, Rising Researchers is open to anyone interested in further developing their research skills. 

Students will receive homework/assignments after each live session. All assignments will be graded and receive feedback from the research mentor. Time must be dedicated outside of the class experience to adequately complete the research project. Homework is estimated to take up to 1-2 hours per week. 

The publication is guaranteed as long as the necessary criteria are met. To maintain the high quality and integrity of our journal, students must meet specific publication standards. Publication decisions are based on academic integrity, overall course performance, the quality of the research manuscript, and adherence to the journal’s authorship guidelines.

Our goal is for every student to earn publication, and we provide mentorship and detailed feedback throughout the course to help them succeed. Ultimately, however, it is the student’s responsibility to put in the necessary effort and produce a manuscript that meets our publication standards.

Our primary goal is to help students develop strong scientific research and writing skills, not to try to get published in as many journals as possible. We do not provide a service for submitting student work to outside publications. Many student-focused journals are operated by student volunteers, have very slow review processes, slow email response times, and do not consistently result in publication. In addition, we do not verify the credibility of third-party journals, and some operate on a pay-to-publish model.

While some students ask about publication in medical or academic journals, it is generally unrealistic for most high school students to publish alongside experienced physicians, researchers, and PhDs. In our experience, colleges are not expecting this level of publication, and unusually advanced publication claims can sometimes lead admissions readers to question authenticity.

Instead, every Rising Researchers student receives a unique online research profile (URL) that highlights their research project and scientific writing ability. This link can be included on college applications, resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and scholarship applications to highlight their research experience and academic work.

Our focus remains on helping students participate in entry-level research under the guidance of a supportive mentor, develop foundational research skills, and present their work through a professional research publication format that highlights their scientific writing and analytical abilities.

No, we do not offer payment plans or refunds.

We do understand that situations may arise that hinder students from completing their research; we will handle all issues on a case-by-case basis. We share the same goal with students/parents: a successful experience for the student. Therefore, we try our best to be accommodating.

For the small class cohorts, the following guidelines exist:

• Classes cannot be rescheduled. Due to the short time frame, there are no makeup classes.
• If a student fails to show up for a scheduled class, the class is forfeited.
• Students should make every effort to attend all classes, especially since the class dates are known in advance. The only excused absences are emergencies, illness, or situations communicated in advance to the research mentor.
• Classes are recorded, and students can watch the recording for any missed class. Office hours are also available to help the student catch up on any missed work.
